Posted On: Friday, May 4, 2018 http://wkms.org/post/ky-arts-council-featured-artist-visits-sounds-good-honor-national-poetry-month The poetry minutes for National Poetry Month this year come from the 6th grade matriculation of Carlisle County Middle School in Bardwell, KY. The Kentucky Arts Council partnered with the Kentucky Historical Society and centered the theme virtually Kentucky's history of voting. The student poets were inspired by a specific work of art, "CountyReferendum1852" by George Caleb Bingham. Perspectives from the painting range from the voters, the buildings, and a dog included in frame.              Constance Alexander, a prolific poet and well-wisher for the arts, visited Sounds Good to discuss the KY Art Council's poetry minutes in honor of National Poetry Month.
